Sa-turday, it's Sa-turday (the 22nd of July)

Oi oi.

I’m sitting in the studio moshing along to Sam ripping up the rule book on his amazing new Gibson Firebird…things is going swweeeeeet. It’s so grand having Kenny and Sam play on the new stuff as they weren’t on the last one.

The rain finally arrived & has made the world smell like tarmac and fish tanks. (Talking of fish, very glad my little friend Pippin is still alive back in London – i thought he may have poached).

A cool thing happened yesterday that didn’t happen on the last record. I wrote a new bit. The song was galloping along, and i stopped and said, “we should have this in here. Ta-daa.” It was most exciting. Lucky Luke has been doing most of the work so far and has played out of his skin. The boy Bullen can create rhythm from stillness like a fucking ninja.

Kenny’s popped back to London – we think he may be a bit freaked out not being able to smell the city – and we miss him terribly! Where are his cries of “cooom on!” and “keep it metal!”???

I have to say, i keep feeling completely sick reading about what is happenening in Lebanon. The Independent front covers have been amongst the most powerful i can remember. Why don’t people ever bloody learn from wars? It’s so deeply embarrassing that we’re not making every effort to halt this vicious carnage. Aaaaargh.

My lovely mate Audrey Nugent has arrived to do some glorious backing vocals on a tune, so i must go and implant the ‘bv-parts’ chip in her brain.
