Eh up chucks,
How do? Wanted to p-p-post up a pamphlet (great word) to say sorry I might be a wee bit rubbishy on the old blog for the next few months as we’re off on tour as you well know, but I’ll pop in when i can. But I’ll be seeing a-many of you along the way I’m sure.
I also wanted to let you guys know that some tongue in cheek comments i made in an interview with Scarlet magazine have been embellished and taken out of context which I’d like to gently correct with a sharp stick…
I am absolutely not ‘seeking to pose nude’ for any lad mags (as if), nor did i ‘push’ my other half into a relationship, and i have not ‘blasted’ any fashion designers. I wouldn’t usually bother mentioning it, but i thought it was quite a little collection of nonsenses, and felt like doing some late night metaphorical clay pigeon shooting.
Off to see what sounds like an amazing theatre piece tomorrow called ‘Mask of The Red Death’ at Battersea Arts Centre by a company called Punch Drunk…you wander around loads of labyrinth-like rooms wearing a burlesque mask, going wherever you please, and everyone has a totally different experience…woohoo!
Just watched Helen Mirren’s ‘Elizabeth’ whilst travelling up to Manchester yesterday – my god she’s great. It must be so knackering being that good. The costumes are so incredible.
Anyway, lossa love + yip yip,
KT x

Ahhhh! Top frockagery (good new word that) and fun at the Brits last night. Begad, you should have seen my barnet the next morning, i looked like a sparkler. It was as if my hair had become allergic to my head and it was all desperately trying to get away. Most amusing that young Kenneth has turned up in some pictures at the aftershow, but i must say I’m glad the boys were with me; one of the bouncers actually pushed me onto the floor in the club and refused to apologise. Honestly, if my mum was there she’d have had him in tears. Still, the Jackson 5 mash-ups and generous quantities of vodka kept us there a while.
Spent a brilliant few days with a couple of handsome older gentlemen! First up, wrote a new song with Billy Bragg called ‘Don’t Do It Liza’ which we’ll play at the itunes thingy on Sunday, and also went to record with Seasick Steve for his album which was so wicked. I decided that footwear is potentially quite important when you record vocals in that it could potentially effect your attitude, so the first number i wore a pair of new red patent leather stiletto ankle boots- Rrrrawk! And then – this’ll make you laugh – i put the old boots on and Steve says, “Hey girl! That aint right, MY old boots were meant to be the coolest boots, but shit, you got better boots ‘n i do. Shit!” Cracked out the crazy flute for the recording too, i think you’ll like it. I love singing with Mr Seasick, it gets me to a place i need to go for my next recordings. There was definitely a bit of Bonnie Tyler going on…watch out…
I should mention that lovely Gita Harcourt has decided to say goodbye to the road in favour of life in London and actually managing to see her touring husband once in a blue moon! We had such a brilliant time having her in the band. Keep an eye out for her own project, The Langley Sisters – it is her and her equally gorgeous siblings – doing a kind of 40’s swampy Andrews Sisters thing. It sounds fab!
Taking her place next to Cat is kick-arse Ami Richardson who has fronted Basement Jaxx and also does her own electro stuff. She’s an amazing find, and we also look slightly amusingly similar, so we may have to start some cloning rumours…
Hope all’s dandy,
Love KT x
