CAPE FAREWELL

Cape Farewell

What's it all about?

Cape Farewell is a pioneering adventurous project that focuses on climate change as a cultural responsibility.

They have organised a series of five expeditions into the High Arctic, each time taking 20 artists, scientists, writers and media crew.

From these expeditions Cape Farewell has produced a film for the BBC, 'Art from a Changing Arctic', and has an exhibition currently touring the world.

Who has been involved?

To name but a few – musicians including KT Tunstall, Jarvis Cocker, Feist, writers Ian McEwan and Vikram Seth, and comedian Marcus Brigstocke.

The project has inspired these artists to make and perform new works.

Why?

All of this cultural activity addresses Climate Change in one form or another -questioning our values, raising ideas of social responsibility, and inspiring society to accept the climate challenge and become part of the solution.

The way that we have evolved our lifestyles over the last 160 years is the cause of our dangerously warming planet. This needs to be addressed and we must all invest in creating a cultural shift for a better future.

KT would like to suggest that people swap their energy supplier to Good Energy. "It is one of the most positive things you can do in terms of supporting environmental happiness - put your money into it!"
