KT to perform at ‘Childish Things’ music night – Oxford

KT will perform at the Childish Things music night at New Theatre – Oxford, alongside Jamie Cullum, Eliza Doolittle, Beardyman and internationally renowned flamenco guitarist Rafael on February 27th.

Childish Things is an annual comedy and music event held in support of Helen & Douglas House, a hospice for children and young adults suffering from life-limiting conditions.

Tickets start at £25 and are available from the New Theatre Box Office on George Street, or via www.newtheatreoxford.org.uk (Booking/transaction fees apply).

Curated by renowned English eccentric Robyn Hitchcock, The Floating Palace is an intimate evening of free-wheeling musical collaboration featuring KT Tunstall, Eliza & Martin Carthy, Krystle Warren and Howe Gelb

It’s a simple concept: musicians admire each other, are a little envious of each other, and, given the chance, like to play with each other. But normally they only get the chance to do this in the studio, or after hours. For the first time before a paying audience, we present a carousel of exceptional ‘roots’ artists; all lit within by their passion for music, accompanying each other on songs they know and songs they’ve only just met.

KT PRESENTS: RUMBLE FOR THE JUNGLE!

KT presents ‘Rumble for the Jungle‘ – an evening of entertainment in aid of Gurukula Botanical Sanctuary on 22nd November at The Tabernacle, London.

Including appearances from herself, Robyn Hitchcock and Vanessa Carlton and stand-up from Al Murray as well as some words from author, Jay Griffiths. There will also be a presentation from Supi Seshan on what the Sanctuary is all about. The evening will feature a pop-up mini eco-market in the foyer.

Songs To Save A Life

KT has recorded a cover of ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’ by Simple Minds for the new charity album ‘Songs To Save A Life’ in aid of Samaritans.

The 11-track album will be available for download from October 3 and includes uplifting songs from KT, James Morrison, The Overtones, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Ed Harcourt and many more.

Like Samaritans, music can play an important role in helping make a connection and give strength to people struggling to cope. Each artist donated their time because they felt very close to the cause, choosing songs of significant meaning.

KT on recording the album: “I’ve always had huge admiration for Samaritans; their existence is so vital to aid those in desperate need of someone to talk to. And music too can be a route out of places too dark to stay.”
