ROBYN HITCHCOCK PRESENTS A MARITIME EVENING WITH SPECIAL GUESTS
FEATURING KT TUNSTALL, GRAHAM COXON AND KATHRYN WILLIAMS
Saturday 30 January 2010, Queen Elizabeth Hall, 7.30pm, Tickets £20
In January 2010, Southbank Centre Artists in Residence, Cape Farewell, and Southbank Centre present Shift – a stimulating and provocative festival focusing on issues of climate change inspired by Cape Farewell expeditions to The High Arctic and the rainforests of Peru. Shift runs from 26 to 31 January 2010 and features the musicians and comedians who have voyaged with Cape Farewell on research trips over the past few years. The festival programme includes two specially-curated evenings of music and comedy in the Queen Elizabeth Hall, as well as a series of free events, including discussions, projections, fashion showcases and workshops.
On Saturday 30 January 2010, Robyn Hitchcock presents a Maritime Evening with guest artists including KT Tunstall, Graham Coxon and Kathryn Williams. This night of music celebrates Robyn and KT’s Arctic expedition with Cape Farewell in 2008 where they were part of a bizarre ship’s crew that included Jarvis Cocker, Ryuichi Sakamoto and (a horribly seasick) Marcus Brigstocke.
